Fire breaks out at scrap yard in Mumbai
MUMBAI: A fire broke out at a scrap yard along Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road in the Kurla scrap area of Mandala in Mankhurd on Tuesday morning.The incident was reported at 8.15 am and was classified as a Level I (minor) fire at 8:19 am. According to officials, the blaze was confined to oil cans, plastic materials, dry waste and stockpiles of wood spread across an open ground measuring approximately 50 by 500 feet.A total of four fire engines, five jumbo tankers, two water tankers, one quick response vehicle and a 108 ambulance were rushed to the spot. Firefighting operations are currently underway.No injuries have been reported so far.
